Local Eats: Father’s Table

Local Eats: Father’s Table

We’re always excited to find local restaurants that serve up delicious, healthy foods!!

Today, we visited “Father’s Table, Catering – Bakery – Cafe”. We were greeted by 2 beautiful ladies in chef coats and a smile.

The specials board was filled with tempting goodies, as well as the gorgeous in-house baked desserts! Those treats were like eye candy!

We had the option of a full buffet of great food, but today, we were in search of a great salad after all the Thanksgiving “treats” we’ve been indulging.

Where it is:

Father’s Table is online at www.fatherstablecatering.com. You can place orders online and also book your event with them as your caterer! Their cafe & bakery location is here:

Forest, VA 24551

About the Chef:

Chef Reed brings more than 35 years of experience, preparing foods in various commercial kitchens. Chef Reed attended one of New York’s finest cullinary/hotel schools and has gone on to work in various capacities including: Chef/Banquet Chef at Sheraton Tara Hotel in Boston, MA; Pastry Chef at Campbell Inn Resort in Roscoe, NY; Food Service Director at the Taconic Retreat and Conference Center in Red Hook, NY and others.

What we Ate:

Mark and I both ordered the House Salad! Simple, but we were doing “Meatless Monday” so that’s what we chose. The soup smelled delicious, though, and on other occasions we have had their Tomato Bisque and Vegetable Soup. Yummy!!

The salad came with one of their most popular dressings, Garlic Parmesan Dressing… also made from scratch! Seriously, it was delicious! All for merely $4.99. A great deal for a pretty large and filling salad. This salad was also served with their homemade rolls made daily.

We had our son with us, so we ordered him a PB&J.. now, this one was what just shows how Father’s Table goes the extra mile to make you feel special.

Look at this presentation:

He was so impressed, and he’s only 4!! Fresh strawberries and great veggies for dipping in their homemade ranch sauce. This was also served on their homemade rolls.

It’s the little things that make your experience worthwhile. There were patrons smiling all around us, and the smell of more real food coming from the kitchen.

Our overall experience was exceptional. The food was fresh and carefully prepared in their own kitchens. The chef takes careful attention to make you feel special. You can also feel the fact that the business is run by believers. There was a sweet spirit from all the staff.

We will be visiting Father’s Table much more often. You should too!

Tell them PureGoodness sent you!
